Finger Print Tree Painting

We have been busy decorating our house in homemade Fall decor these days…our once empty looking front window, door, and other surrounding areas are taking on a new, improved, and ‘made with love’ feel. K.Bear is waiting patiently to ‘dive’ into the paint for our “Finger Print Tree Painting”…join us as we get a bit messy!

The girls were in deep thought as they dipped their tiny fingers in the cool paint. The rich red, yellow, and orange colors were almost as beautiful as the real trees outside. We enjoyed our science refresher coarse on why the leaves change color…to ‘feed’ the tree for its upcoming hibernation during the winter months ahead.

I’m always a fan of any project that may involve my kiddos little prints!

And if you should try to do a similar project with your “wee ones” maybe you will get as lucky as me and have a little one whose hand looks like this…

Or maybe one that looks like this…. look closely at the tint of orange on his lips! We don’t bust out the paint very often in our house but when we do it is always a hit and the kids love it. I close my eyes at the mess and we enjoy the messy memories that are being made together….

The Story of Doors

So often we here the saying as “one door closes another will soon open”….well for the first time EVER that is my thinking. Some of you may know I have been writing for our beloved city for the past 10 months. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and had a great response to my writing as a result. What a confidence booster knowing so many lives have been changed, helped, and supported along the way. Just through my writing. Who would have thought? In having been given this opportunity I have also come to love and stumble upon a gift that I have in fact been given. The gift of writing!

Yesterday, I received a phone call from my editorial stating that “things are changing as a result of some cooperate decisions and unfortunately my column will be no longer”. Ugh! Bummer…He also said “there was never a question of content, deadlines, or ability” “if it were up to me I would be keeping you on” yay! Go me!

None, the less…now what? I thought..prayed..and prayed some more about this last night and have decided to continue writing (of coarse) for anyone who might like to read it..hahaha! I love all of you who do (and those who don’t..you”ll likely never see this) hehehe

That said..you can fully expect to find more of my “writing” here as I make a “re-newed” commitment to my own beloved blog(s)

You might also note that my once “Loving Motherhood” title has also been changed

to “Ministry of Parenting” as I still love being a mother (of course) I have also found great peace in know that I am “serving” others in their similar journeys. The rewards and struggles of parenting are great; as we go forth new doors may open and others may close. Although the “unknown” is still to be found somethings are for certain; we will continue to walk hand in hand in our “journey”  being the best we can be to our child/children each step of the way.

Be sure to follow me on the (right) as I will not always be posting to FB 🙂 and I love seeing your smiling faces on my “followers” list!

Yes, it is still summer but the learning never ends in our home! We have had little tv or video game time in our home. The imaginations have been running wild and the kids have been just that “kids”!!
Exploring, Learning, and Growing!!

K.Bear has been enjoying her “sensory time”. Moon sand is certainly one of her favorites. She loves to “cook/bake up” all kinds of goodies for the family.

K.Bear also has a new found love of workbooks. She LOVES them! She will sit and do school for hours if I let her. For such a little ball of energy she really can “focus” when she needs to. She is certainly a “down to business” kind of kid. She likes order, structure, and definitely routine. Let’s just say she makes me a better mom. Keeping me on my toes and “focused” on what “must be done and when” at all times of the day.

Her coloring skills have developed greatly over the summer. Although, she tries to pretend she doesn’t know her colors she really does. She is not only the “order” in our home she is also still the family comedian!

And….here he is Mr. Smiles concentrating on his “work”! That’s right, he is now old enough for school in our home too. Welcome aboard….little man!

I might mention that these pictures were taken before he started eating the crayon and I proceeded to throw it in the trash. Red crayon squashed in between 6 baby teeth…yuck!

Now, you may have noticed that there was not much about our little Pumpkin! She too has been busy at work (believe me) “summer school”, horse back riding, swimming, and working on her American Heritage Girl summer goals. Which bring me to my introduction of…..”Pumpkins Adventures…” she will now have her own blog! Displaying all of her latest and greatest accomplishments as she continues to become a beautiful young lady through serving God, cherishing her family, serving in her community and honoring our country.

Pumpkin has grown up so much over the past few months…it is wonderful to see her branch off. All the while…she is still and will always be “our little Pumpkin”. Here she surprised me and prepared her own bowl of cereal  in the morning….thanks, for being such a big helper!
