Random Tot School/Preschool

Amazing, December is here….and the Christmas hustle and bustle is well under way in our home! It is funny how once the craziness began I stopped blogging (again). I admire the people that blog daily because I surely don’t know how they do it! Someday?! The blogging may have halted for a bit but the fun and pictures surely have not. Mr. Smiles is blowing me away with his skills and abilities (3rd baby?) he plays pretend with his sisters, paints, colors, FINALLY sleeps through the night (18 months), enjoys play doh, and loves doing school with his Momma!

K.Bear is learning to write/trace, her ABC’s, #’s, size, shapes, and colors. Her interest in workbooks and handwriting is quite impressive for a 3 year old (especially one whom can’t usually sit still for more than 5 seconds). It is a joy to work with her and watch her grow each day by leaps and bounds.

We are still working on eliminating the “paci” but I know the time will come. The truth is, I think it bothers others more than it bugs us 🙂 yes, she’s “3” but she was nearly potty trained at “1” stubborn = “ABSOLUTELY!” All will be done on her own time….I/we are still leaning that is just the way she rolls!! In the mean time practicing daily “patience” in dealing with the “struggles” of having such a very extreme (spirited) child can be draining. I rest assured knowing it is her way or the highway and no one will ever sway her mind differently.

K.Bear’s other new love is “ABA” patterns!! (take note of the paci…haha)

Stinker!

Yes, Mr. Smiles has officially reached “stinker” status in our home! Climbing everything in sight and quickly transitioning into “boyhood”. He mastered climbing the couch, the hamper, the table, the kitchen stools, the bed, and nearly out of the crib in a matter of weeks. Ugh!

I am thinking a “big boy” bed transition is in our very near future. The girls were both out of the crib by 21mo but at 16 mo??

Here my little man is in action…climbing the dirty clothes hamper of all things!! His monkey toes can help him climb virtually anything.

Getting his balance…..

SUCCESS!! Dear Lord…Pray for my sanity!

Finger Print Tree Painting

We have been busy decorating our house in homemade Fall decor these days…our once empty looking front window, door, and other surrounding areas are taking on a new, improved, and ‘made with love’ feel. K.Bear is waiting patiently to ‘dive’ into the paint for our “Finger Print Tree Painting”…join us as we get a bit messy!

The girls were in deep thought as they dipped their tiny fingers in the cool paint. The rich red, yellow, and orange colors were almost as beautiful as the real trees outside. We enjoyed our science refresher coarse on why the leaves change color…to ‘feed’ the tree for its upcoming hibernation during the winter months ahead.

I’m always a fan of any project that may involve my kiddos little prints!

And if you should try to do a similar project with your “wee ones” maybe you will get as lucky as me and have a little one whose hand looks like this…

Or maybe one that looks like this…. look closely at the tint of orange on his lips! We don’t bust out the paint very often in our house but when we do it is always a hit and the kids love it. I close my eyes at the mess and we enjoy the messy memories that are being made together….
