Celebrating the Gift of “She” (F.M.F)

So we meet again. I’ve been buried deep in school books and lesson plans. I’ve been unpacking a boat that has served as our cottage from May to September. A mothers work is never done and the gifts  never seem to stop coming. So embrace the moment, seek joy, and let’s ride..

It’s Five Minute Friday time…the prompt is ‘she’
The rules; write for five minutes, no extreme editing, give some comment love, and visit the beautiful Lisa Jo-Bakers sight to link up! Join me!

The sun is shining and the day is drawing to an end. A drive home from a full day of work and a due date looming over head. Today is the day they guess my baby should arrive. However, an earlier appointment says otherwise. Trying to keep myself busy; I begin to prep dinner and plan for an evening walk with the dog. No sooner does my mind begin to wonder; there is a pop, and then a gush of water. Like a balloon popping on a summers day a constant stream as if it will never stop. My husband sleeping soundly as visions of sharing in one last meal dance through his head. He is instead awaken with a startle; a quick toss of the remote and a gathering of bags. This is our first and their is still so much to learn; are we fully ready to accept such a gift?
Ready or not; what was once our ‘it’ is in fact a ‘she’.
“She” is 8 today!
Our 6 lbs 9 oz bundle of joy. A sweet soul that warms our hearts daily. She made me a mom, him a dad, and us a family. She quickly becomes the center of our world. The fears that once lingered in our minds and hearts are a thing of our past; and, the world we once knew revolving around me quickly turns to a home filled to the rim with we.
We are so blessed to have her in our lives. Arriving much before our humanly, naive, and self centered ‘original’ plan we are quickly reminded like so many times before we are not the ones in charge; for it is HE and the very gift we were to welcome was in fact “SHE”

Stop!

Wishing my beautiful little girl all the joy in the world, blessings beyond measure, and a life filled with all that God has promised. Happy 8th birthday Pumpkin.

I’ve got this.. {five.minute.friday}

Some call it a lack of blogging; and some call it a blogger-cation any which way this momma was taking a little break as I prepped for the 2013/2014 school year. We officially started school {3rd, kindergarten, prek 3, and tot-school} Wednesday. The same sweet students, a new curriculum, new goals, and a mom’s heart that is filled with joy as her children go to bed saying “I can’t wait for school tomorrow”.

Today is Friday a day I like to have a little fun and join with a community unlike any other. It Five-minute-Friday .. Join me! Write for five minutes on a given prompt; no editing, no worries, just fun. Today’s prompt; red

 Go….

The year has officially begun with a goal to make school fun for all: while embracing all opportunities to learn, explore, and develop their sweet minds. The year has begun with a goal to create a home filled with joy, laughter, and creativity. The year has begun with a goal to provide a safe haven for all the gifts God has given each of my children. It is a time to find and further encourage growth in these areas so that they might go forth armed with the tools God saw fit.
A morning circle time, books read by mom, a class of four adorable, rosy red cheeked,  tan faces after a boating filled summer. Our morning flows like a river ..
A nature walk exploring all of creation in search of the anticipated red, orange, and yellow leaves; surely a sign Fall is drawing near. The days pass by in a flash and the worry once felt leaves my side; no longer a stress filled soul, but a warm heart filled to the brim knowing; I’ve got this!

The Last

 It’s Friday…

That mean’s I’m breathing a bit easier knowing the week is drawing to an end. This weekend I will be spending some quality time with my hubby, my oldest {Pumpkin} and my baby {Stinker/Scooter…depending on my mood}. While, my middle two monkey’s enjoy some grandparent time. This weekend is the little kid grandparent weekend; a zoo trip, swimming, and other memory making moments are in store for my sweet babes. I will be praying for fun and safety on all accounts; and praying for a memory filled weekend in your homes as well.

Today is also the day I link up with some super women and join in a community like no other; its Five Minute Friday.

Today is where the pen meets the paper and all you do is write. You write for five minutes on a given prompt. No worries about what people will think, no grammar fears, no extreme editing; it is a time to brush up on your skills and dig in a bit deeper.  It is a community like no other and we want you to join the party #FMFparty. Join me at the home Lisa-JoBaker has created for us kindred spirits.

Today’s prompt; Last

Is it time? I should know, right? This is my fourth.

The contractions come and seem consistent but who has time to watch a clock? There is shopping to be done for goodness sake {everyone goes to the fruit market in labor} and walks to be had. I have three other sweet babes counting on me; two giggling girls eager to ride their bikes and a tough, tumbling, toddler boy riding in his chariot.

Should I call the grandparents; and grab the hospital bags? No, I will press on…

Contractions grow closer and stronger…or are they? I sit and they stop {annoying} and stand and they are 2 minutes apart..what is this? This is not like the last..

Each time a bit different than the previous but the same miraculous event none the less.

I am done..it is time. My heart divided as I walk away from my other three babes to welcome another. A bumpy, construction filled drive, a warm face looking so familiar as we enter the room. Surely, I know her…it is my team! Yes, I have a team that welcomed all of my sweet little ones. A team like no other; a husband so strong, a mid-wife so calming, a sister most just dream of , and a nurse {the familiar face} a gentle soul amidst the chaos.

Everything in place, a positive group B diagnosis demands a bag of antibiotics to be administered at full speed as time is of the essence; 8, 9, 10…

I’ve got this! Breathing, focused, and pressing on…it is time! Time to welcome the last…
