Accept Failure Take Action Anyway

This space on Fridays has been saved for those days I can seem to muster up some extra writing energy. It is a space that I write freely for “5 Minutes unedited”  on a given prompt by my friend Lisa-Jo. It is a time to practice my art and share with others. Hope you will join me!

Go… Today’s word “willing”
Dreaming is easy; but, being willing to act is not quite so.
We dream of the what if’s, we feel the emotions as if it were real, that constant stirring of our inner most spirit. We long to express our deepest thoughts; yet, we continue to keep them bottled up inside.
A bottle bursting at the seems waiting to be shaken and spew all that it contains.
We wait, and wait! Then eventually, building the courage we start to leak. The dreams that keep us going. Let me encourage you to start leaking..
Take those next steps to action.
Be willing to take risks
Be willing to fail
Be willing to struggle along the way
Expect frustration and moments of a well run dry.
Keep going…leak your dreams today..act.. and be willing to accept the outcome regardless of what it was meant to be.
So often it’s not the destination that matters most but the journey that got us there. Be willing to take action and fail along the way. It will only make you stronger.

Stop….

Reflections of Grace

It is November my friends; can you believe it? I hope you all enjoyed the 31days of Food Intolerance’s series (even though I missed a few…oops). I would love to hear from you; do you have any questions or want to learn more, please let me know.

This month I will be putting my family to some real life challenges and you are going to be journeying with us. It is the month of “Giving -Thanks”. I am very excited to share with you on Monday just how we will be putting things in motion.

Since Friday is my day of “rest” in a sense. I will be linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker and some other friends (yes, they are real people…I officially met many of them in(RL) What a blessing it was to squeeze them and not have a screen between our words. Join me as we write for 5 minutes, unedited, on a given prompt. Today’s word; Grace

Go….

Being a Mom it can bring out the best in us and the worst. Our patience is tried in so many ways. We are pulled in every which direction between; meeting our families needs and seeing that our personal needs are met too.

We train.

We teach.

We learn.

We live.

We judge.

We fall short.

We stumble.

We fall.

But…we get back up. God is there with us always. He stands at the top of the mountain cheering for you when you might feel as though you don’t deserve it. His grace surrounds you and the door to forgiveness remains open for those times we are less that obedient. Keep true to yourself and who you were created to be. Know that there will be bumps in the road but there is always a hand on the other side waiting for you to reach out.

Dirty Laundry

Today’s post is going to stretch my abilities as I make an effort to stick with my 31days {Food Intolerance’s} and Five Minute Friday {fun}. Ha, nutrition and “laundry” {today’s prompt} I’ve got this, right? Here goes unedited, five minutes..

Go…
I’m inviting you all to join me for a tasty treat. Sometimes life is full of ups and downs and we find ourselves carrying too many bags. Bags of dirty laundry; the kind filled with fear, tears, pain, stress, and heartache. The bags of lost loved ones, divorce, separation, and mangled friendships. These bags weigh us down. They keep us grounded. It is hard to breathe and lift our head above one more piece because surely if we move everything will come crashing. Spiraling out of control; feelings of hurt, pain, and fear all surface as we sort. We begin to sort; treating the stains worth keeping. One bag at a time we begin to see the bottom again, but this time although the bag may appear empty it is in fact very full; perseverance, hard work, trust, love, and friendship sit nicely folded until the next turn of the basket. Life gets messy and the laundry consumes us and sometimes we just need to know when to get away from it all; hang up the clothes, breathe and walk away. Seek comfort in the things that bring us the most joy; our families, good fellowship, and you know, chocolate chip cookies. The laundry won’t fold its self, and the stains need treating. However, today enjoy a treat on me.
