Outside School

The weather in our little part of the world has been lovely and we have been enjoying every minute! Mommy especially loves the tired kiddos at the end of the day. We have not been doing much “school” (since Easter…really) anything we have done has been on the “fly”! We are starting our summer break you could say. Although, I do have plans to continue with school even in the summer months it will consist more of reading books, hands on learning outside, and field trips! A bit less structured than usual…..

We enjoyed our first picnic with some friends at a near by park. This was great the kids all brought their bikes (of coarse they all wanted to eat as soon as we got there)! The park had lots of shade and plenty to do.

K.Bear soaking up some vit. D in the back yard (she just looked so darn cute…I had to snap a picture)
Near by our house we have an outdoor mall (it is very pretty) I took the girls to play and then we got K.Bears ears pierced (check out Loving Motherhood) for more on that 🙂 The play area is all healthy foods and a pumping heart that makes noise when you climb on it. Some “health education” at its finest!

O.k so it hasn’t been all physical activity we really have been reading too!! Or should I say “eating books”

What are your plans for the Summer? Will you be continuing with school or taking a break? I would love to hear all about it!

Random Schooling

School has been a bit random over here (especially with taking pictures). We have had really nice weather 70’s and have just been enjoying the out doors for a change. A little hands on learning; catching bugs, touching a worm for the first time, and looking at flowers bloom!

Boo enjoyed her first ride in the swing (although, she does get VERY nervous)!! Her little hands tremble but big Sissy is always near by to console her in times of need.

This picture was Easter morning when A got her “oolaoop”! This long awaited purple hoolahoop…I think we can say is some P.E (physical education) at least for Mom. “Mommy can you “jiggle” like this?” O’boy what a sight!! Im glad the blinds were shut!! Daddy even got in on the fun and gave it a try (he was about as good as Mommy).

We also made some blueberry flax seed muffins with our friends one day mixed in all of the craziness of Boo’s surgery, Easter craziness, and beautiful weather! The girls all took turns putting ingredients in the bowl and stirring! O.K so we added a few chocolate chips too!!

I praying for some quiet times ahead!!

Spring Tot Style

Last week for school we were busy learning about “Spring” we will be continuing with this theme because there are so many fun things to do I simply couldn’t fit them all in one week! We did a muffin file folder game. Pumpkin really did well with ABA patterns…and still needs some help with AABB but we’re getting there.

We read many books about Spring The Crunching Munching Caterpillar,Planting a Rainbow, and Fancy Nancy’s Fashion Parade!. If you have never read Fancy Nancy Books and have a girlie girl you have to check it out!!

A cotton ball flower painting. We used cotton balls to make the flower heads. When the painting dried we made stems and leaves on them.

Our “S’ is for spring page. We pulled out the new sponge rollers I bought from Discount School Supply. The girls really had fun with this and the pictures came out beautiful. Look for a canvas painting in the coming weeks.

We enjoyed many other things too I just didn’t have the camera around. We took a nature walk (which we froze on) we looked for leaves, sticks, bugs, and baby birds. The girls each had a grocery bag to put her “special treasures” in! Our little 2 year old friend shouted “there’s a baby bird” and it was a brown baggie blowing around (very cute!). We enjoyed Play-Doh time, blocks, and the game Hi Ho Cherry-O. Come join us and check out other “Tot Schools“!!
