Spinning By…Vertigo

These days lately are spinning by for me….literally!! I have had vertigo for 1 week today!! I have thought of every possible cause minor to serious and everything in between!! I have talked to others who have had it, read about it, and am virtually grasping at nothing. Been to the Dr. and the Chiropractor… please just stop spinning!!! I have been joking that I am on my own personal boat but let me be the first to tell you it is no picnic.

Chasing after kids trying….I do mean “trying” to keep the house tidy (I failed hopelessly at that this week) I just did not have the strength, energy, drive, or balance for that matter. Thanks to my mom for ever so graciously offering to come help next Wednesday 🙂

Spinning by …but life must go on….I have thought about this a lot in my “dizzy” little head these past few days!! Sure I would love to lay on the couch, sleep and just close my eyes (that does stop the spinning). However, the show must go on!! I have 2 little ones and a husband that are counting on me. Maybe this is God’s way of saying “slow down sister”!! With that said I will continue to be “wife” and “mommy” of coarse but that list of what is a “must do” “have to do” “want to do” “say yes to everything” “pleaser personality” is going to have to “slow down”!!

So my hope for you is that you too can look at what is important in your life? How you spend your time? Is it having meaningful conversations with your kids? Or worrying about the cloud of dust covering your TV? Your kids aren’t going to care that the TV is dusty (he/she will like writing his/her name in it..) I say this NOT ONLY as a challenge to you but to myself as well!!

Let my “spinning” be a lesson to all on how quickly life “spins past us”!! I invite you to spin back into the circle of what really matters!!

Practice what you preach..”NO-itis”

Yep, I have had another one of those “aaaahhhaaa” moments on “practicing what I preach”!! We all know the importance of saying “NO”. We are taught from a very young age:

When a stranger offers you candy …..you say “NO”
When a friend is doing something bad and wants you to join…you say “NO”

I have come to realize the older I get the word “NO” has taken on ever changing meanings. “No, Thank You”, “No, I can’t”, and just plain “NO”. As a mother it is important to teach our children “NO” so they don’t get hurt, hurt someone else, or don’t get in a sticky situation. What happens when they are adults? Can they still say “NO”.

Lately, I have been suffering from “No-itis”. I like to take on the world, never say “No”, and “think” I can do it all!! Well, reality check…Im not super mom, not perfect, and can not “do it all”. I am taking some time and “weeding” through the “chaos”. With August quickly approaching, school around the corner, and a billion other things going on. Now is the time, what kind of example would I be setting for my children if I continue to go the pace Im running?

My current chaos;
Watching kids(ages 8, 7, a new one coming soon 10 weeks..plus my 2 little ones!!)
Cleaning houses 2 x’s a mo
Hair bow business
Dog Bone business
cooking, cleaning, homeschooling, playdates, fieldtrips, and 100’s more!!

So some future weeding that is going to occur in our house;
Im cutting back….yep!! And it is in writing now so someone please hold me accountable 🙂

Im going to drop down to watching only the baby…
Cleaning will stay that is my 2 “days out”
hair bows and bones will stay
Pumpkin is going to school this Fall M, W, F (and we will homeschool T, Th)
1 frield trip a month, 2 playdates a mo
Soccer starts in the Fall
Looking at hiring someone to clean…I know isn’t that funny 😛
I will cook and freeze meals

That is enough weeding for now…I’ll keep you posted on my progress and how I am able to shorten my list of “to-do’s” and “just say NO”!! Wish me luck…I hate saying “NO”!!! And for all of those that know me personally get ready to hear it more!!!

Toilet Pond?

As I was down stairs (rinsing out dirty diapers) yesterday; my darling husband was outside working, and the girls were upstairs “playing” !! It was not until I came around the corner that my 3 year old giggling non-stop says “ummmmm ummm ummm K’s in the potty”. Racing to the bathroom to see what the little stinker has done….to find a toilet paper covered (almost 1 yr. old) and water everywhere. I still can not figure out who did what or how!! They sure did think it was funny though!!!

I know Im not the first Mom to ever have a playing in the potty story but Im just thankful the water was clean or I would have freaked out!!
