I’ve got this.. {five.minute.friday}

Some call it a lack of blogging; and some call it a blogger-cation any which way this momma was taking a little break as I prepped for the 2013/2014 school year. We officially started school {3rd, kindergarten, prek 3, and tot-school} Wednesday. The same sweet students, a new curriculum, new goals, and a mom’s heart that is filled with joy as her children go to bed saying “I can’t wait for school tomorrow”.

Today is Friday a day I like to have a little fun and join with a community unlike any other. It Five-minute-Friday .. Join me! Write for five minutes on a given prompt; no editing, no worries, just fun. Today’s prompt; red

 Go….

The year has officially begun with a goal to make school fun for all: while embracing all opportunities to learn, explore, and develop their sweet minds. The year has begun with a goal to create a home filled with joy, laughter, and creativity. The year has begun with a goal to provide a safe haven for all the gifts God has given each of my children. It is a time to find and further encourage growth in these areas so that they might go forth armed with the tools God saw fit.
A morning circle time, books read by mom, a class of four adorable, rosy red cheeked,  tan faces after a boating filled summer. Our morning flows like a river ..
A nature walk exploring all of creation in search of the anticipated red, orange, and yellow leaves; surely a sign Fall is drawing near. The days pass by in a flash and the worry once felt leaves my side; no longer a stress filled soul, but a warm heart filled to the brim knowing; I’ve got this!

Throwback Thursday: homeschool style

Today we are going back in history; its throwback time!’ Here is a homeschool throwback craft we did in ‘2009’ 🙂 look at those tiny feet.

Craft-Footsie Tootsie Bees

You will need;
yellow construction paper
black paper
wax paper
wiggle eyes
scissors
glue stick

First trace one of your child’s feet on the yellow paper, then trace each hand on a piece of wax paper (with fingers closed…like a mitten). Cut out pieces. Also cut small strips of black paper (stripes).

Start building your “Footsie Tootsie Bees”
1. Glue the black stripes on the Bee Body (foot)
2. Attach wings (the mitten hands)
Glue on the eyes

Voila…you have your sweet little ones hand and feet in one project! The girls all really enjoyed this one. Our little 4 year old friend enjoyed walking around stinging everyone. We also talked about the purpose of bees and pollination. If I owned the Bee Movie  we would have watched it!

Bucket Lists and Boating Begin

So here we are wrapping up another school year. Summer vacation is lurking around the corner and much excitement is in the air. The boat is in the water, our grandparents pool is open, and the sunscreen bottles are already getting a work out. It is suppose to be a rainy weekend here so my plans for the weekend will include; wrapping up loose school ends (oh, how I love paper work/record keeping. Ummm, not really!) finishing the garden, and completing this years family ‘Summer Bucket List’.  So be sure to stay tune as I share some of what we will be doing this Summer.

How about you? Does your family have any big plans for Summer? How do you plan on keeping your kids busy?

I know one thing is for sure my four little monkeys will be enjoying plenty of time outdoors; swinging, sliding, swimming, running, and jumping. They will do what kids do best get dirty play. There will be loads upon loads of wet laundry and sandy clothes. In the end those are the things memories are made of. Its not about how much money you spent on the best camp. Nor is it about achieving that ‘perfect’ summer; its about making memories, spending time together, and enjoying even the small things.

Busy Bee (9 months)

 However, I also know without a plan that early excitement of nice weather can quickly turn to boredom without a plan.  So I hope you will join me in making this the best Summer ever for our families. Let the list making begin!

I will unveil our “Summer Bucket List” later next week so be sure to ‘follow’ along. Also don’t forget to share in the comment section what your plans are. I love hearing from you!
