St. Patrick’s Day

So we began our St. Patrick’s day festivities with green pancakes which A. thought was very neat! I think she giggled the entire time she ate them.

We then moved onto a water color rainbow project. I had her make a pot of gold. I cut a half circle (our pot) and then she glued crinkled up yellow tissue paper pieces for the gold.

Our rainbow was mostly purple (her favorite color) we also read the book What Makes a Rainbow? We read this book several times and she now has it memorized and “reads” it to K. Bear!

For lunch we had our little friends over and made English Muffin Pizza’s (See the recipe below)

1 English Muffin or Bagel
1/2 c. of sauce
Cheese
pepperoni, peppers, pineapple, any of your favorites
and go to town building your pizza masterpiece!!!

Here is what they looked like…served with some green veggies!!

O.K so I couldn’t resist putting my little bear up here too. She is not posted very often on the homeschool page but she is quickly learning new things. “Dada” and trying to scoot. Yeah, go little baby bear!

A “Mission”

So we have had a lot going on lately. A new mission project, St. Patrick’s day fun, and of coarse Pumpkins favorite Barbie time.

First, I thought I would share our “Mission” with you! In an attempt to teach Pumpkin a new lesson of giving to others I came up with an idea of doing a bottle/can drive for a pregnancy clinic (since I gave birth to her sister she is obsessed with babies and where they come from). She is my future midwife or OB in the making! I simply typed up a quick note to a few friends and family and voila we had a mini bottle drive! We raised almost $15 dollars for the clinic and filled a baby bottle with all of our money from the cans. This was a great lesson on recycling, counting/money recognition, and giving all in one!

She of coarse loved putting the money in the bottle…(we had to do this several times) because it was so much fun.

The finished product and ready for delivery! She was into the bottle but did not want to sit up for a picture. What I wouldn’t give to be 31/2 again!!!

Mr. Daddy Potato

So this blog entry is dedicated to my lovely husband who I promised I would post his beautiful “twice baked potatoes” on the blog. Yes, he did make me take a picture of these while we had company over… God love him!! They were yummy and the best part he made them!!

First, Grill the potatoes and then let cool just a bit….

Scoop out the inside and make mashed potatoes (he added real bacon bits, chives, sour cream, milk, and butter) He also mixes his with a mixer (no lumps)

Spoon mixture back into the potato shell

Sprinkle with cheese and bake at 350 degrees (15-20 minutes…could also use the boiler)

(We intend to make up a bunch of these and freeze for the summer!! Thaw, reheat, and eat!!)

Enjoy!! (Complements of our Daddy!!) xoxoxo
