Saying Bye!

So have you ever wondered why people come in go in our lives? For what purpose does God put people in our lives just to take them away?

This thought crossed my mind several times yesterday as I was cleaning (for those of you that don’t know me personally I clean houses 1x a week for extra money). I knew last night we were going to be saying “bye” to one of our close friends and neighbors. We live in you could say an “odd little block”. Our neighbors are more like family than neighbors and we are VERY close with many families in our surrounding area. We eat meals together (weekends and during the week), our kids play together daily, spend holidays together, and just about anything you do with your family we do with our neighbors too! It is wonderful! So as you can imagine how saddened we must be seeing one family go. Pumpkin rolled over for the first time at this particular neighbors and also enjoyed her first trip “Up-North” with this family. We have spent numerous “Neighborhood Christmas Parties” there, New Years, bowling, and just weekend hang outs. Life will certainly be different, but on the upside we now have a new vacation spot to visit.

So when it comes to saying “good-bye” whether it is a temporary see you later, moving to a new location permanently, or when someone passes away. Think of how that person and/or persons has touched your life in some small way. I truly believe we are all here on earth to serve a purpose and with that said I challenge you….What is your purpose?

Kiddie Cooking!

Pumpkin loves to help me in the kitchen so everyday I try to come up with at least one way she can “help mommy”. Since she is a die hard chocolate lover this particular day we made some chocolate covered strawberries for Daddy (we enjoyed a few too!). They were yummy! Pumpkin couldn’t wait to mix our melted chocolate. Melting, mixing, and making a mess what kid wouldn’t love to do this?

This was our end result we did have a few stems fall off in the process of dipping. However we just called those “dunker-roos” and those were the ones her and I ate.

And of coarse there was the licking of the spoon (that is the best part of being a kid…) O.k so I did sneak a lick too!

Lastly, our messy face says it all!!

It is so much fun cooking with kids (yes, stressful at times) Like when your mixing flour in the Kitchen-Aid and he or she feels called to turn it on full speed making a flour cloud in your kitchen. None the less it is lots of fun and what a fun way to learn counting, measuring, science, and family history. Not to mention for all my fellow scrappers great scrapbook memories too!

Think Spring

I have been on a mission to beat the Winter blahs around here! I love snow, sledding, building snowmen, and cozy nights by the fire but enough already! Bring on some spring cleaning, fresh air, walks at night, and park days.

So in an attempt to kick things into swing over here I have started a reorganization mission, a “10 minute tidy” routine with Pumpkin (42 mo’s), and to go along with my “fresh” new thinking I decided to change the layout of my blog too! Hopefully by the end of the week I will have some new fun things on here that I have been tossing around in this head of mine 🙂 Have a warm, wintry day but think “Spring”!!
