Holiday Cards!

With the “Holiday Season” upon us and Christmas around the corner we are all surely in a frenzy to bake cookies, send out cards, buy presents, wrap gifts, and of coarse all the while keep things in perspective for our little ones. What is Christmas to your family? Is it Jesus Birthday? Is it a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate? Or do you simply go through the motions? I encourage you to think about this over the next 21 days…What does Christmas mean to me?

Here are some fun things to do with those Holiday cards!

Cut the fronts off of them and save them for crafts with your kids! What kid doesn’t love to cut, glue, and make a mess?

Reuse some of the pictures and have your kids re-create cards of there own to send out throughout the year!

Scrapbook the picture cards every year to see how all of your family and friends have changed over the years. Cut out important peoples handwriting (grandma, great grandparents, etc.) and add that to the book as well.

And the last one was passed onto me by a friend (thanks Karen!)

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children http://www.stjudesranch.org/help_card.php a non profit home for abused and neglected youths, runs a holiday card reuse program in which the kids cut off the front covers, glue them onto new cards, and sell the results – earning them money and confidence.

We are accepting used, all-occasion greeting cards from November 15, 2008 thru February 28, 2009. You can mail your donations to:

What better way to recycle and reuse those holiday cards we love to receive but in the end don’t really know what to do with?
