Lion Lesson

“Wee” have been exploring weather patterns and what better time of year to do that? The month of March!! In like a “lion out like a lamb” boy…I can only hope the next couple days bring some “lamb like weather” it is darn chilly these days!

To go along with our “lion like weather” we made paper plate lions. Boo enjoyed squeezing the glue in her little cup and placing the tissue paper squares carefully around the outer edge of the plate.

While, Pumpkin started from the inner most part of the circle and worked her way to the edge. Pumpkin also was not a fan of using the yellow and the orange together…..she would have much preferred only using one color for the lions mane.

Some google eyes, a triangle shaped nose, a smile, and a “roarrrrr” these little lions were perfect for a quick and easy craft for my little guys!

We also took some time to learn about lions HERE
For a fun coloring page
Don’t forget to write a “letter to the lions” great writing assignment (wink, wink)

Did you know…?

Did you know that the “Music Man” that comes down our street doesn’t actually just play music?

Yep, the cat is out of the bag…Pumpkin broke the news to me the other night….

Pumpkin: “Mommy, its not really just a music man he sells ice cream too!”
Me: “Really?!”
Pumpkin: “full of giggles”

I guess it was time she is 41/2 ….so I did what any nice mommy would do and promised her an ice cream the next time the truck went down our street!! Let me tell you Pumpkins hearing is just fine….you have never seen a little girl so excited….

Of coarse I grabbed the camera …
Here is Pumpkin waiting ever so patiently to get her first ice cream off the truck..

She picked a chocolate covered (of coarse) ice cream ..paid the man $1.50 and her smile could have lit up a room….she just kept saying “I just don’t know how we caught the ice cream man mommy”!!

Here is our proud girl enjoying every last bit of her ice cream careful not to waste any ….nor get any on her pretty dress.

Be sure to stay tune for future ice cream adventures!!

Dirt, Digging, and Cupcakes!

O’how I’m not a fan of the the quick catch up but the weather has been beautiful and we have been taking full advantage of it while it lasts. Word on the street is it will be back in the 30’s by next week :(!! We have added new members to our ever growing family “pet rocks”….can you say ‘whoooo hooo’…a low maintenance and inexpensive pet!! Pumpkin has been busy learning about “living vs. non-living things” and I thought this was a perfect time to welcome a pet rock into our home. We went on a hike, painted them, and of coarse made them cozy beds complete with pillows/blankets.

The sand box has been a huge hit this year with both girls..however with another baby on the way (a boy) Im thinking the tiny turtle is just not going to cut it any longer!! Time for an upgrade!!! These girls love to dig!!

What day would not be complete without a sink bath? For Boo this is almost an everyday occurrence. The amount of dirt, syrup, food in her hair, and miscellaneous mess that this little one can have stuck to her body amazes me 🙂 Boo is pretty tiny for 19 mo old…so I’m just thrilled I don’t have to fill the tub every time she needs a good scrub down!!!

Our wonderful Aunt Alisa made rainbow cupcakes for us to eat on St.Patty’s day. These were a big hit with the girls. That’s not all, our awesome Auntie Heather made us green jello…what a sugar rush of a week!!

Boo is a taste tester…. she dips a finger in first before diving in!!! She is one smart cookie!!
